RUNNING INDUSTRY, A $35 BILLION DOLLAR RACE IN MEXICO

The running industry or athletic races in Mexico has been booming for the last six years and everything seems to indicate that this golden moment will continue for a long time, thanks to the new generations (millennials and centennials), who are driving the development and growth of this sector, which today is estimated to be worth 35 billion pesos.

 

There are currently one million brokers in the country, and it is expected that in five years there will be 600,000 more, not only from Mexico, but also from countries such as the United States and Canada.

 

The industry in numbers

2,071 races were held in Mexico in 2019. In 2014, only 300 were held.

1 million runners exist in all of Mexico.

1.6 million runners are expected to reach the number of runners in the country in the next 5 years.

35,000 million pesos is the value of the running market in our country.

55% of the runners in Mexico are men and 45% are women.

$12,000 pesos are spent by women runners in Mexico per year in tennis shoes, clothes and accessories.
